Bristol Township School District
January 2025
Superintendent's Letter
Dear Bristol Township School Community,
I hope today finds you well and your 2025 is off to a great start as we make our way into February.
Thank you for your support and understanding as we navigated some challenging weather this past month. For the second time in my three years as Superintendent, the Eagles will be facing Kansas City in the Super Bowl, and as we wait until next week to see if Levittown's beloved Birds can dispatch the Chiefs this time around, there is no better way to pass the time this weekend than checking out our January newsletter!
This newsletter has a football focus of its own, as we share with pride that two of our Truman Tiger football alums will be playing college football at the highest level this fall. We also highlight a pair of our educators who were nominated to be Keystone Technology Innovators, the addition of News Networks at all of our elementary schools and welcomed a new principal to Brookwood.
February promises some fun and important events in our schools, including celebrating the 100th day of school and Black History Month activities.
Best wishes for a great month, and of course, Go Birds!
Sincerely,
Michael Nitti
Superintendent of Schools
Celebrating Our School Board
Thank you to our school board members for their valuable public service and all their work and efforts on behalf of our school community!
In honor of School Board Appreciation Month, Armstrong students used the Verizon Innovative Learning Lab to create post-it note holders with “thank you” messages etched in. Students presented them to each board member at the January meeting, along with an Armstrong Black Card, which provides discounts to local businesses. Awesome work!

Welcoming Brookwood's New Principal
Meet the Principal Night
Brookwood’s new principal, John Austerberry, was welcomed by families, administrators, teachers, and school board members at the Meet the Principal event! He began his new role on Tuesday, January 21.
Thank you, Mrs. Lang!
The Brookwood staff celebrated Christina Lang for her fantastic job as interim Principal! She has been described as kind, supportive, and conscientious by students and staff. The Brookwood staff and community thank Mrs. Lang and wish her the best in her next adventure!
Elementary News Networks Promote Technology & Creativity
Brookwood News Netowrk (BNN), Keystone News Network (KNN) and Mill Creek News Network (MCNN) recently produced their first episodes. Students are learning the technical side of broadcasting as well as the creative side of writing the stories and segments. Students are experiencing the following positions: news anchor, weather reporter, audio technician, live stream coordinator, graphics editor, and producer.

Feeding School Kids: Round Up at Giant
BTSD is once again proud to be part of the GIANT Feeding School Kids initiative! From January 1 – March 31, you can round up at the register to support our school district’s efforts working to eliminate childhood hunger.
Through this initiative, BTSD and other public school districts can use funds to support meal programs to expand food distribution programs, create on-campus food pantries and gardens, supply extra weekend meals, and eliminate outstanding student meal debt.
